GETTING STARTED
(for compatible Windows Operating Systems only):
Remove the cap and plug the device into an available USB port. The U3 drive should appear in My Computer with two drive letters. The first drive letter will be assigned to U3's read only partition, which contains system files for the U3 smart drive. The second drive letter will be assigned to the read/write partition, which is where the e-Capsule™ Private applications are stored and where you can also keep your files and folders. Data transfer is a simple drag-and-drop operation.
- After the hardware installation is complete, the U3 icon will appear in the Taskbar
- If the U3 icon does not appear in the Taskbar, you can access the My Computer utility and double-click on the GP U3 System to manually run the U3 GhostPen™ smart drive.
- Click on the U3 icon located in the Taskbar to access the U3 Launchpad.
- The animated Launchpad Tour will auto-start with a brief description of the U3 Launchpad features.
- You can select a different language by clicking on the Status and Settings option of the Launchpad.
- Once you complete and exit the Launchpad Tour, you are ready to work with the U3 Launchpad and with your U3 Smart Drive.

| 9. Help and Support: | Click to access the U3 Launchpad user help. |
| 10. About U3 Drive: | Click to view the USB device serial number and the Launchpad version. |
| 11. GhostPen Portal: | Click to access the GhostPen™ U3 landing page. |
| 12. Eject: | Click to safely eject device from the USB port. |
| 13. GP 2GB Disk | Displays the currently assigned drive letter [e.g. (G:)] |
| 14. Free Capacity (MB) | Displays the available space for new data in Mbytes. |
